Edward Timothy Lyles

Edward Timothy Lyles has a burning for entrepreneurship. From humble beginnings selling candy to at eight years old, to ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, business has been at his core. Edward desires to build companies that teach others to achieve their dreams through entrepreneurship, self-reliance, positive relationships, and effective communication.

With a scholarship from the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project, founded by Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson, Edward began his higher education at Miami-Dade College – where he studied Computer Engineering. Excelling in all of his engineering classes, his grades earned him a place on the Dean’s List by his second semester in school. Even before graduating Miami-Dade College, Edward was recognized as an Outstanding Achiever in the Department of Computer and Engineering Technology receiving many awards and honors. Edward served as President of the Technology, Engineering, and Computer Club at Miami-Dade and began a campus wide initiative to create technology awareness in underrepresented areas.

In 2007, Edward Timothy Lyles was recognized by the Unites States President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, and was awarded the Presidents Volunteer Service Award for over 400 hours of dedicated public service. In addition, Edward received a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States.

In fall 2008, Edward began work with the federal government at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. Edward has been an instrumental part of the creative advertising strategy and implementation of the eMentoring Initiative, a program designed to provide online mentoring to students and junior faculty in science-related fields at the National Heart Lung, and Blood Institute at the NIH.

In 2011, Edward won the 100 Urban Entrepreneurs business pitch competition sponsored by The Cashflow. After winning the competition, Edward was given access to an 8-week entrepreneurial training program. Shortly after that, Edward entered a national business plan competition hosted by the New York Stock Exchange and mtvU., Edward’s team was selected to attend Global Entrepreneurship Week with “Movers & Changers”. During the weekend on Wall Street, Edward rand the opening bell and met with Billionaire Entrepreneur and owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban. During the casual conversation, Cuban offered sound business advice, which inspired Edward and his desire for massive entrepreneurial success.

In the same year Edward was selected as a recipient of the National Speakers Association’s (NSA) Nido Qubien Award for $5,000. With that honor, he was featured in a full-page article in the December 2011 issue of Speaker Magazine. Edward has an Associate of Arts in Computer Engineering from Miami Dade College and Bachelors of Arts in Speech Communications and Advertising from Howard University in Washington, DC. His mission in life is to live wealthy, healthy, and wise; while creating inspirational products and services designed to people maximize their potential.
